Eric is a partner in the Firm’s Denver office. His practice focuses on real estate and business transactions as well as commercial and real estate litigation. For more than 15 years, Eric has assisted individuals, businesses, non-profit corporations, and local governments in real estate and land use litigation matters. In addition to this broad depth of real estate knowledge, he has extensive experience representing clients in court in various complex commercial disputes, including those involving commercial real estate sales and leases, development agreements, products liability/mass tort, non-competition, employment, trade secrets, and complex business and construction contract disputes.
A significant part of Eric’s practice involves guiding clients through complex commercial and real estate transactions, including public-private partnerships, residential and mixed-use development projects, business sales and acquisitions, and residential and commercial real estate transactions. Working as outside counsel to the City of Leadville, Eric was part of the award-winning team that successfully ensured the redevelopment, renovation, and historic preservation of the iconic Tabor Grand Hotel. As a natural outgrowth of his transactional and litigation work, Eric helps clients navigate complex regulatory and compliance issues in heavily regulated and emerging industries, including Colorado’s marijuana and hemp industries.
Eric grew up in Longmont, Colorado and received his B.S.F.S. from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in 1999. Eric received his J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law School in 2003. He is a member of the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations, and was a founding member of the Colorado Bar Association’s Cannabis Law Committee. Eric is licensed to practice in State and Federal Courts in Colorado. Eric enjoys volunteering for the Colorado Lawyers for Colorado Veterans Legal Clinic and the Colorado Veterans’ Stand Down.
